I wish I could write.
There was a time when all I did was write... that was several years ago. I think I probably wrote 20 hours a day back then. I have notebooks filled with stuff... most likely not even good stuff, just stuff. I probably don't even have anything worthwhile to write about now, but I still wish I had it in me.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates correction is stupid.

A wife of noble character is her husband's crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

A fool shows his annoyance at once,
but a prudent man overlooks an insult.

Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in men who are truthful.

An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.

In the way of righteousness there is life;
along that path is immortality.

Lazy hands makes a man poor,
but diligent hands bring wealth.

The man of integrity walks securely,
but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.

Hatred stirs up dissention,
but love covers all wrongs.

When words are many, sin is not absent,
but he who holds his tongue is wise.

Proverbs 10:4, 9, 12, 19

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

it was clear that he'd been telling them all my secrets before i arrived. i walked in and his cousin says, "do you REALLY want 15 children?!"
oh yes, and,
"are you REALLY only 20?!"

well i've been sick for a week and a half... i finally went to the dr today. turns out i have a combination of a sinus infection and herpangina coxsackie virus, which can cause meningitis... yeah so i'm glad i was treated fairly quickly for that. (herpangina: a coxsackie virus infection of the throat, causes red-ringed blisters and ulcers on the tonsils and soft palate, the fleshy back portion of the roof of the mouth.) YUCK. i've been so lethargic and cranky lately - everyone has been so patient and loving to me despite these things - so it's good that i have some antibiotics now to kick the crap out of this thing.
we have a kitty. a little orange kitty named oliver. i found him on sunday night when brian brought me home... just wandering around on the porch. i knew dad would kill me if i took him inside, so brian took him home for the night. he rode around in the car with us all day monday and today we took him to the vet. he seems to be pretty healthy so far. mar is already in love with him so i'm assuming he'll be staying here permanently. she went out today and bought a litter box and kitty treats. heehee.
i received more flowers today - white spray roses and babies breath. they're insanely beautiful.

Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgement.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me with wisdom in the secret heart.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Psalm 51:1-12

A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed. Proverbs 15:13

"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the thing you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulnesss, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another." Galatians 5:16-25
